CEAH Fellowship: Interdisciplinary Humanities Research
An informal roundtable discussion, led by CEAH fellow Matthew Sivils, for those interested in pursuing interdisciplinary research in the humanities. Knowledge rarely confines itself to disciplinary boundaries. Humanities scholars increasingly find it productive to engage in studies that transcend the borders of convention.

Town hall: Role of the chief diversity officer
The committee searching for ISU's chief diversity officer seeks input on the role of the diversity officer. The committee will use ideas collected through a series of town hall meetings to develop a job description.
Keck Foundation Information Session
Donna Van Pelt, ISU Foundation senior director of development, will present information on the W. M. Keck Foundation's research grant program and explain the selection process. The Keck Foundation funds projects in the medical research focus area and the science/engineering focus area. Grants range from $500,000 to $2 million.

Symposium: Undergraduate research and creative expression
A day-long celebration of undergraduate research that brings students from all academic disciplines together to share their work with the university community, families and guests in a conference-style environment. Participation is open to any ISU undergraduate involved in mentored research.
Welcome reception: CALS Student Services
Meet Elizabeth Martinez-Podolsky, undergraduate retention specialist in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences' student services office. She will act as the CALS multicultural liaison officer and provide programming for a broad range of student interests including undergraduate multicultural, adult, LGBT, veteran and military students.

Reception and awards presentation for an exhibition of 60 artworks by 20 students who will receive Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in integrated studio arts from Iowa State this year.

Open house and pancake breakfast
Annual fly-in breakfast hosted by the ISU Flying Cyclones Club. Pancake breakfast is $6 for adults; $4 for kids. ISU aviation clubs and organizations will be present as well as other local aviation groups. Airplane rides are available at additional cost.

CEAH Fellowship: Imagining the Prairie, Then and Now
CEAH fellow Matthew Sivils will discuss how the prairie landscape functioned as a challenge to European-American conceptions of the land, while becoming a defining emblem of the American experience. Following the presentation, University Museums assistant curator Adrienne Gennett will provide a tour of Iowa artist Ellen Wagener's landscapes exhibit.

Nepalese Student Association: Candlelight Vigil
Show support for victims of the earthquake that hit Nepal on April 25. Donations boxes will be available.
