The 2012 Women Impacting ISU calendar will be unveiled; the program begins at 4 p.m. The 12 women featured on the calendar represent current students, faculty and staff who distinguished themselves through their accomplishments at Iowa State. The event is hosted by the Carrie Chapman Catt Center for Women and Politics.

The Faculty Senate represents the general faculty of Iowa State University and participates in shared governance of the University with the administration. Senate meetings are open to the public and adjourn at 5 p.m.
Opening Reception: Adaptive Interface - Building Envelope
Reception for an exhibition of work by international teams of architecture and landscape architecture students who participated in the ARS Berlin Summer Academy 2011. The teams worked with energy modeling and dynamic daylight simulation software as a design tool and integrated daylighting, illumination and shading strategies into their designs for adaptable, mixed-use buildings for the European Energy Forum site in Berlin, Germany.

"Factors that Influence 6th-12th Grade Girls' Interest and Confidence in Science and Mathematics," Carol Heaverlo, outreach program coordinator, ISU Program for Women in Science and Engineering. The presentation will feature the results of a comprehensive assessment of the Taking the Road Less Traveled Career Conference (TRLT) and share what we have learned about the factors that influence 6th-12th grade girls' interest and confidence in STEM.

"Working Over Wood" Artist Studio Open House
Every Friday, artist Jennifer Drinkwater will set up her studio in the ground floor gallery of the Christian Petersen Art Museum - Room 0003. She invites the public to visit with her, participate, and develop a dialog about her current project to reinterpret and recompose the Grant Wood mural for Parks Library "When Tillage Begins, Other Arts Follow."
