Open Late Thursday Nights in December
Each Thursday in December, Reiman Gardens will be open late until 8:00 p.m. and admission from 4:30 to 8:00 p.m. is free! Donations will be accepted for Youth & Shelter Services Holiday Giving Program. Support a great program, enjoy holiday cheer, see the holiday display, "Snug as a Bug", and shop the Gift Shop with something for everyone.
Wreath Making Workshop
Learn how to assemble a holiday wreath with Reiman Gardens' staff. They will guide you through the steps to use evergreens, specialty greens, and other materials to create your own seasonal decoration for your home - all for the price buying one in the store!

WinterFest: Open House for Greenery Galore Exhibition
Celebrate this holiday season in traditional 1880s style at the Farm House Museum. Learn about the history of mistletoe and other popular holiday traditions. Be sure to stop in and join the festivities this holiday season to experience a truly prairie Christmas! For the open house, the Farm House Museum will feature carol singers, hot cocoa and carriage rides.
"Clearly" - Exhibition and Performances
Join University Museums for an interactive installation of music and dance as solid and as ephemeral as glass. The installation of over 100 objects of glass assembled or hanging to produce sound is holding a series of FREE performances Dec. 2-3, 2011 in Brunnier Art Museum.

Release a Butterfly into the Butterfly Wing
Release your very own butterfly into the Butterfly Wing. Each registered person/group will be given their own butterfly, which they will then release into the Wing. For your participation, each person/group will receive a special certificate with their name, the name of their butterfly and the date. Call 515-294-2710 to reserve a butterfly/butterflies. Preregistration is strongly encouraged.

Wrapping up the Holidays
On Saturday, December 17, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., visitors may enjoy holiday music, sample delicious food and beverage items, and take advantage of free holiday wrapping for any gifts purchased in the Reiman Gardens' Gift Shop as we help you "Wrap Up the Holidays". Stroll, snack and shop in our unique holiday atmosphere!
December Story Time
Join us as we read stories about Holidays around the world. We'll have fun stories and activities.
Commencement: Undergraduate and Graduate
An anticipated 1,650 students completing an Iowa State University degree this semester will be honored during a single commencement ceremony. Former Iowa State faculty member, Business dean and provost Ben Allen will receive a Doctor of Humane Letters from the university for excellence in educational leadership and for scholarly contributions to the field of transportation and logistics. Allen also will deliver the commencement address.
Post-Commencement Reception
Walk across the parking lot to the Alumni Center immediately following commencement for a reception for fall 2011 graduates and their families and friends. The reception will be open for two hours and will include refreshments, photo opportunities, tours of the Alumni Center and merchandise for purchase.
