SUB Music: Frontier Ruckus w/Buxton
Since 2008, Frontier Ruckus has been creating beautiful, delicate, and sometimes haunting songs. The band has been featured by numerous notable sources including Paste Magazine, NPR Music, and Rolling Stone. Their two albums The Orion Songbook (2008) and Deadmalls and Nightfalls (2010) both received acclaim from critics and fans alike. Currently Frontier Ruckus is touring extensively and writing songs for their next album.

Performance: The Yellow Rose of Suffrage
"Yellow Rose of Suffrage," a one-woman play performed by Jane Cox, professor and director of ISU Theatre. For Women's Equality Day and in honor of the Carrie Chapman Catt Center's 20th anniversary, Cox will perform her one-woman play.

Panel: What's So Bad about Fifty Shades of Grey?
A panel of scholars will discuss the best-selling Fifty Shades of Grey series that libraries in Minnesota and Florida have refused to put on their shelves. Panelists include Brenda Lohman, ISU human development and family studies; Dometa Brothers, ISU English; and Lynn Carey, Ames Public Library interim director. Veronica Lorson Fowler, Communications Director for ACLU of Iowa, will moderate the discussion. Banned Book Week event.
