Fiber Reactive Dyeing Techniques with Annihka Murray
Learn to use fiber reactive dyes to create intriguing colors on natural materials like cotton, silk and rayon. Students will experiment with process and fiber types to see a full range of outcomes before creating the final project.
Stringing and Beginning Wire Work with Terrie Hoefer
Learn the basics of stringing (this is not the same as bead weaving or stitching) and wire work. Create your own head pins, jump rings and ear wires and learn how to make bead links and dangles.

Intermediate Glass Beads with Rhonda Scott
Take your bead skills to the next level! Learn how to etch your beads for a matte finish and apply pixie dust for a pearl finish. Incorporate fine silver, and make a simple yet elegant gravity bead. More techniques will be demonstrated as time allows.
Intermediate Pottery with Greg Lamont
This class is designed for students who have completed a beginning level course and have basic throwing skills but want to enhance their skill level. More attention will be given to expanding throwing skills and exploring new techniques such as lidded containers, joined forms and closed forms.
Mat Cutting with Amy Dreyer
Learn to size mats, cut straight and beveled edges, and hinge mount artwork on the mat cutter at the Workspace. Bring a 5 x 7 or smaller art piece with you to class. This class is required in order to use the mat cutter on your own.

Embroidery with Judith Lemish
The basic stitches for embroidery can be used for more than pillow cases and kitchen towels. Tons of designs will be available, from traditional to modern and fun, or create your own! Students will stitch on a large tote to create a one-of-a-kind bag.

Focus Grant Exhibit
FOCUS is an annual celebration of the arts in which the Lectures Program and the Student Union Board (SUB) fund creative projects in the visual and performing arts proposed by Iowa State students. Many students have majors outside of the arts but make an important contribution to the creative climate of campus life. FOCUS aims to encourage and reward the artistic endeavors of all Iowa State students, regardless of their academic focus.

Lawnmower Service Days
Members of the Agriculture Systems Technology Club will complete a routine service on mowers (no major repairs). Pickup and dropoff service is available in Ames only for an additional cost ($15 push, $20 riders); call or email by 2 p.m. March 22 to request pickup. Service continues March 24 (8 a.m.-3 p.m.).
AgArts Potluck: Local Wonders
Local foods dinner to raise grant funds for local artists. Grant proposal forms are on the AgArts website. Sponsored by the AgArts student organization.
Global Gala
Global Gala is an annual celebration of the Iowa State University campus and Ames community. Through food, music, dancing, and a fashion show, a variety of student organizations promote their culture and heritage.
Relay for Life
Relay for Life events raise hundreds of millions of dollars each year for cancer research, education, advocacy and awareness. It will be a night of celebration, remeberance and support. There will be entertainment, food, games and ceremonies to remember lost ones and support those struggling with cancer today. Come with your friends and family to experience a great time and help us raise money.

Beyond Basics: Glass Beads - Applying Twisties and Millifiori
Focus on surface decorations! Students will discuss using twisties and millifiori as special design elements and practice applying them to beads. Bring your own twisties to save time; millifiori will be provided.
Beyond Basics: Intro to Modern Patchwork with Calee Himes
Patchwork is everywhere: upholstery, gadget covers, accessories, home décor and of course, quilts. Learn to make a few 7-9" modern patchwork blocks and transform them into potholders.
