Walk-in Argentine Tango
This Milonga (dance party) is a multi-level class with lots of time to enjoy the music and dance. From 4-5pm, moves for beginners are introduced with a different figure each week along with techniques for better dancing. From 5-7pm, the floor is yours for dancing under the guidance of Valerie Williams, and for working with different partners. An intermediate level figure will also be introduced during this time.

Lunch with Simon Tam
Simon Tam is an Asian American author, musician, activist and motivational speaker. He is best known as the bassist and founder of the Asian American dance-rock band, The Slants, who won their case against the government at the United States Supreme Court. Limited space available. Woodshop Orientation
Learn the fundamentals of woodworking equipment while creating a tool carrier. Leave class with knowledge of proper machinery use, and, most importantly, woodshop safety. Students may purchase the toolbox for $6 after class or we will use them for our Art Mart fundraiser. The orientation is required in order to use the woodshop on your own.

Lecture: How the Daily Times Herald Defeated a Libel Claim
A "Depth and Dialogue" session exploring free expression in a small-group discussion format. Reporter Jared Strong and Daily Times Herald's co-owner Doug Burns will share how they successfully defended a libel suit and scored a victory for the free press. Reception with light refreshments to follow in 172 Hamilton Hall. Part of the First Amendment Days celebration.

Walking tour: Free-Range Speech
"Free-Range Speech: The Paradoxical Policies for Public Presentation at ISU." A walking tour covering the history of the Edward Allen Area of Free Debate from its establishment to the present day. Subjects touched on will include locations for free speech, restrictions and limitations, and a summary of benefits and drawbacks to campus policies regarding the agora. Part of the First Amendment Days celebration.

Documentary: Nobody Speak, Trials of the Free Press
The 2017 Netflix documentary "Nobody Speak," which was nominated for a Grand Jury Prize at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival. The film explores the Hulk Hogan "sex tapes" case against Gawker Media and examines the threat of big money to a free press. Snacks will be provided during the showing. An informal discussion with members of the First Amendment Committee will follow. Part of the First Amendment Days celebration.

Free food, fun and demonstrations of the five freedoms. T-shirts and sandwiches are first come, first served. Part of the First Amendment Days celebration.
Live Art: "Express Yourself"
Phoenix-based "visual wizard" Timmy Ham spreads positivity and inspiration through design and adventure. Watch a live demonstration as he creates a street art-inspired mural to commemorate First Amendment Days 2019. Students can express themselves on a chalkboard wall under the tent. A Q&A session is planned when the art is revealed at 2:30 p.m. Part of the First Amendment Days celebration.
Intermediate Glass Beads Workshop
Experiment with etching, pixie dust, and baking soda to produce a variety of effects including pearl finishes and beach glass looks. Students must complete a beginning glass beads class (4 week or one day intensive) before taking this workshop. Supply fee includes glass for class time only, and propane/MAPP is available for purchase if needed. Free week includes use of tools but no supplies.

Cyclone Voice
Cyclone Voice is a singing competition that highlights the vocal talents of Iowa State students. This year's finale will be hosted by country singer Mason Ramsey, who gained fame with viral video of his yodeling. Ramsey will host the annual singing competition, introducing the show and each of the student performers. He will also perform a short music set during the judge's deliberations, before the 2019 Cyclone Voice winner is announced.

Noble Bodies w/ Volcano Boys
Noble Bodies is Bryce Taylor (guitar/vox/drums), Elaine Bradley (drums/vox/guitar), and Chris Bennett (bass). Together, they started the band 'Another Statistic' in the fall of 2004, but then broke up in January of 2008 due to irreconcilable differences. In April of 2017, Noble Bodies was officially born. The Fashion Show
The Fashion Show is in its 37th year, and is one of the largest student-run fashion shows in the nation. The show features student-designed garments both on the runway and in mounted exhibitions. This year's theme is "From Coast to Coast," with guest designers from the Vans shoe company.
