Eye Contact: The Iowa State Portrait Collection
The ISU Portrait Collection portrays individuals who helped shape our culture and whose lives tell significant Iowa State stories. University Museums Director Lynette Pohlman will share some of these stories and talk about the tradition of portraiture at Iowa State.

Printmaking Demonstration with Master Printer Asa Wentzel Fisher
Come to the Brunnier Art Museum to see a printmaking demonstration. Asa Fisher from 505 Press of Ames will be demonstrating relief and letterpress printmaking techniques while also providing insight and commentary on the current exhibition of prints by Amy Worthen.

Panel: Columbus Day and Representation of American Indians in Art
"Erasure and Invisibility: A Conversation on Columbus Day and Representation of American Indians in Art." When these narratives are contrasted with artwork and images of American Indians made by American Indians, how might our understanding change? Using works of art from the permanent collection by N.C. Wyeth, Juane Quick-to-See Smith, Dan Namingha and others, explore how the narrative on American Indians evolves.

Artist's Reception: "Faces of Iowa State" exhibit
Join us in celebrating Rose Frantzen and the 39 portraits included in the Faces of Iowa State exhibition currently on view in the Brunnier Art Museum. These new paintings completed over the past 14 months celebrate the tradition and the impact of portraiture at ISU and show the development of ISU as a story of democracy where the vision, dreams, and actions of individual people play a vital role in how our collective identity is shaped.

Artful Yoga
This practice will enrich your yoga experience by going beyond the physical and inviting an artistic perspective to your awareness. Please arrive a few minutes early for a brief discussion of the current exhibition with a yoga twist. The practice will begin at 5:30. No yoga experience is necessary, but please bring your own mat. The Making of Campus Art
An internship sponsored by the Department of Residence allowed Evan Harrison, Senior in Architecture, the opportunity to travel to New York City and work in the studio of internationally acclaimed artist Mickalene Thomas on the recently installed Geoffroy Residence Hall mural. Evan will share about his internship experience through pictures, stories, and revealing what it takes to make campus public art. Two sessions are available, 7pm and 8pm.

Art Walk: Celebrating Artful Engineering at Iowa State
"Innovation and Discovery." With Marston Hall reborn and reopened, it is a perfect time to enjoy the wonderful Art on Campus Collection in the College of Engineering that inspires those who study, work, and visit the College. Starting at the Marston Water Tower (from a distance), we will discover and discuss many of the public works of art that define the aesthetic of the Engineering environment. Art + Issues- Building a Campus Community
The University Museums exist to celebrate the diversity of our cultural heritage and through art teach critical thinking and generate dialogue that helps to build an inclusive campus community. Topics that relate to current events will be presented and attendees are encouraged to bring other discussion topics with them with a goal of generating understanding in a safe, inclusive, and inspiring space.
