Nanovaccine Initiative Seminar
"Nanofabrications for Infectious and Degenerative Disorders," Dr. Howard Gendelman, University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha. Dr. Gendelman will discuss the fabrication of nanomedicine for Parkinson's and viral diseases following his discovery of how functional alterations in brain immunity lead to neural cell damage. A reception precedes his seminar at 1:40 pm.

Enameled Earrings Class
Enameling (using heat to fuse powdered glass to metal) creates a fabulous splash of color for jewelry. Using a torch and a few simple tools you will enamel on flat metal. Combine your components to make multi-dangle earrings in brilliant colors, and have enough discs left over for future jewelry projects.

Portrait Drawing Class
Investigate the anatomy of the face and head through in-class exercises using measurement, size comparison, negative space exploration and other classical drawing techniques using a variety of media. If you like Kids Story Time, you'll flip for Caterpillar Club! Please join us for winter storytelling twice per month, from October to March. Each gathering features a theme as we read aloud two or three books, and wrap up with related cooperative activities and crafts great for groups and individuals alike. Public hearing: Regents' agenda
At this public hearing, individuals have an opportunity to provide early input on agenda items for the state Board of Regents Feb. 4-5 p.m. meeting in Cedar Falls.
Workshop: Python
No programming or UNIX background is required, but knowledge of UNIX may be helpful. The workshop is intended to provide a fundamental understanding of the Python programming language for practical use in research including building algorithms, Python syntax, conditionals, loops, functions and more.
