The Tomorrow Plan: Building a More Sustainable Des Moines
Bethany Wilcoxon, project manager for the Des Moines Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, will provide an overview of the area's "Tomorrow Plan" to encourage regional collaboration on economic, social and environmental issues. Her presentation is sponsored by the Graduate Community and Regional Planning Club.
Summer undergraduate research opportunities
Learn about the National Science Foundation's Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) program and other summer research opportunities at ISU and elsewhere. A panel of faculty and students who participated in summer research programs will talk about finding positions, application processes and other topics related to undergraduate research.

"Just Desserts: A Taste of Chocolate and More." Sample delectable desserts while supporting the Ames-ISU YWCA. Sugar-free options will be available. All proceeds support scholarships for ISU women as well as programming that works to eliminate racism and empower women. Ticket order deadline is Nov. 10.
