Excel 2007 In-Depth
First of two sessions that takes an in-depth look into the basic concepts of Excel 2007, a popular spreadsheet package. (Second session is on February 20.) Lecture: Day of Remembrance
Remembering the signing of the Executive Order 9066 and the forced incarceration of Japanese Americans during World War II. Grace Amemiya is an Ames resident who will talk about her personal experiences as a former internee. Phil Tajitsu Nash is a civil rights attorney and professor of Asian American Studies at the University of Maryland who worked on the reparations movement.
Scholarship Fair
Instructors and their students are invited. Information on the highly competitive national scholarships and fellowships will be available. There will be a brief presentation about applying for major scholarships at 3:45 p.m.
Computer science colloquia
Russ Greiner, professor of computing science, University of Alberta, presents a computer science distinguished lecture, "Budgeted Learning of Probabilistic Classifiers."

Recognizing Dr. Kathy Hickok, winner of the Margaret Sloss Gender Equity Award, and the Sloss scholarship winners.
Lecture: Agriculture today and tomorrow
"The Landscape of Agriculture Today and Tomorrow," Michael Boehlje, Purdue University, West Lafayette, Ind. He will be addressing the importance of strategic planning for long-term viability and success. The 2009 College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Distinguished Lecture.
