Inception workshop: Global Food Security Consortium
The consortium, an ISU Presidential Initiative announced in June, is holding its first workshop. Participants will discuss interdisciplinary, comprehensive and innovative approaches to the problems of global food security. Workshop continues Oct 2 (8:30 a.m.-noon). Service-Learning: A Teaching and Learning Circle
This teaching and learning circle will offer a brief introduction to the topic of service-learning and progress into a deeper discussion of how to make meaning out of service-learning. Latino Heritage Month Button Making
Celebrate the long and important presence of Hispanic and Latino Americans in north America during Latino Heritage Month stop by during open hours September 23 - October 13 to make a button or magnet. Designs feature inspirational quotes and iconic images that celebrate achievements by Latino Americans.
Wheel Pottery Class
Students will be guided through all aspects of forming bowls, mugs, vases and more on the pottery wheel. Learn hand-pulling, glazing and finishing techniques. Open to absolute beginners as well as those with experience who would like to improve their technique and abilities.
