Human Sciences Week
The first-ever week long celebration of the College of Human Sciences is Oct. 12-16. Today's events include CHS clubs and information fair and philanthropy lunch, United Way pie in the face, and lecture by Stephen Russell.
Walk-In Craft: Origami Cranes
Folded paper cranes symbolize longevity, wisdom and marital bliss. Choose from beautifully printed origami papers and follow the folding instructions to create your own set of three cranes. Keep them as a talisman for yourself, or give them to someone as a small but special gift.
Future of Healthy Families Lecture: Stephen Russell
Attend the Helen LeBaron Hilton Endowed Chair Lecture Series. This series brings together insight from across disciplinary bounds to address how family is defined, the current knowledge on healthy families, and the future of the field. Reception will follow.
Walk-In Dance: Belly Dance
A Three Pillars Delsarte based approach to Middle Eastern Belly Dance in the style of award winning performer Shiara. Learn the basic movements of belly dance with a specific focus and detailed exploration each week (listed below). The 8:20pm class will focus on technique, expression and choreography.
Live Music: The Ragbirds
Led by dynamic, energetic front woman and multi-instrumentalist Erin Zindle, The Ragbirds utilize an arsenal of instruments from around the world. The Ragbirds are a fusion of folk rock and pop hooks over danceable world rhythms stirred with a Celtic fiddler's bow.
