Kids Story Time
Each session features a theme with two or three books read aloud followed by a related craft or activity. The books, crafts and activities are intended for children ages two to seven years old. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Free for members. Price of admission for the general public. Pre-registration is required for groups larger than 10 and is HIGHLY recommended for everyone else.
Silver Rings Class
Saw, file, and solder sterling silver sheet to make a personalized ring just for you. Start with a ring in copper and make a second one in sterling silver. Embellish your ring with stamps and texture and learn to polish to a high shine.

Resin Jewelry Class

Beginning Photoshop Class
Explore the basic tools of Photoshop. This class will be a slowly paced, step-by-step, follow-along class for the raw beginner. Get a handle on the basic functionality of this complicated program including: layers, cropping, filters, brushes, text and shapes.
Origami PMC Class
Traditional origami paper-folding techniques plus metal clay equals an awesome fine silver jewelry. Practice basic origami folds on beautiful paper and plan your jewelry design. Wheel Pottery Class
Students will be guided through all aspects of forming bowls, mugs, vases and more on the pottery wheel. Learn hand-pulling, glazing and finishing techniques. Open to absolute beginners as well as those with experience who would like to improve their technique and abilities.

Training session: ISU youth-related policies, procedures and forms
This session is offered by the offices of risk management, university counsel and 4-H youth development, and intended for youth program leaders who plan and supervise youth programs and for administrative assistants who complete tasks for youth programs. Those planning to attend are asked to send an email to the office of risk management.
Retirement reception: Dr. Lawrence Evans
Dr. Lawrence Evans, professor of veterinary clinical sciences, is retiring after 50 years of service in the College of Veterinary Medicine. RSVPs requested by May 22 to Dianne Ritz.
Woodshop Orientation Class
For the beginner who wants to learn the fundamentals of woodworking equipment. Proper usage of the machinery will be covered, as well as woodshop safety. This class is required in order to use the woodshop on your own.
Paint Your Own Pottery with Laura Bestler
Part of our summer series of weekly Paint Your Own Pottery techniques led by area artists. "Painting" bisque is a fun and relaxing way to spend an evening. Laura will show you some ways to personalize food and water bowls for your furry friends.

Retirement reception: Jerry McGinnis
Jerry McGinnis, Food Stores supervisor for ISU Dining, is retiring after 19 years of service to Iowa State.
Workshop: Ready to Run Iowa 2013
"Advocating an Issue." This workshop reviews effective advocacy techniques for promoting an idea or issue across various political and community contexts.
Inspiration Awards and Annual Dinner
A reception begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by the annual meeting and dinner. During an after-dinner program, recipients of the Faculty-Staff Inspiration Award will be recognized. A dessert reception will conclude the evening.
Dance social
Free dance social hosted by the ISU Ballroom Dance Club. Singles welcome. Dress is casual; indoor shoes or socks are required.

Tai Chi Class
Learn the Yang Style Short Form as developed by Cheng Man Ching. The fun, easy-to-learn movements of The Form refresh the spirit and help improve balance, posture, flexibility, confidence, circulation, and overall health and well-being. Students will also learn a few Baqua and Chi Kung health exercises.
