Special Olympics Iowa summer games
More than 3,000 athletes participate in Special Olympics Iowa's largest annual event. Competition includes aquatics, athletics (track & field), bocce, cycling, developmental events, soccer and tennis. Athletes also enjoy Opening Ceremonies at Hilton Coliseum, a Celebration Dance, and activities and entertainment at the Olympic Festival.

Celebration of Life: Dennis Peterson
Dennis Peterson was part of the university staff from 1970 to 2004, retiring as director of international students and scholars. He died March 4. Friends and relatives are encouraged to share their stories and memories at this event.
