G.W. Carver Day of Recognition Program
Celebrate Iowa's first George Washington Carver Day of Recognition! This program will feature notable speakers including: Dr. Kenneth M. Quinn; Dr. Olga Bolden-Tiller, dean of Tuskegee University's College of Agriculture, Environment, and Nutrition Sciences; Marsha Kelliher, president of Simpson College; Simon Estes; and Dewayne Goldmon, senior advisor for racial equity to U.S. Secretary of Agriculture.

Karagoz Performance of "Forest of the Witch"
The Forest of the Witch is a modern interpretation of a traditional Anatolian shadow play adapted and performed by Ayhan Hulagu. When Karagöz, the hero of traditional Anatolian shadow plays, cuts the branches from a magical tree, he is transformed into a series of animals, which leads to a comic sequence of adventures. Along the way, Karagöz and his sidekick Hacivat learn the importance of nature and protecting the environment.
