Four retiring chemistry staff members will be honored: Bill Britton, administrative specialist; Dick Egger, senior machinist; Karen Lind, secretary; and Beverly Nutt, records clerk.

Retirement for Sandra Hegna, seed analyst, Seed Science Center Experiment Station.
Retirement reception: Carolyn Mabee, Office of Student Financial Aid
Carolyn has worked at ISU since 1983. She has spent her entire employment with the Office of Student Financial Aid, the last 22 years as secretary to the director.
Retirement reception: Chloris Williams
Williams, the secretary for the department of apparel, educational studies and hospitality management, is retiring Jan. 29. A brief presentation will begin at 3 p.m.
Retirement reception: Dan Spencer
Dan Spencer, Central Stores, is retiring after nearly 37 years of service to ISU.
Retirement reception: Dave Volkers
Volkers has been the greenhouse manager for the plant pathology department since 1981 and the natural resource ecology and management department as well since 2007.
Retirement reception: Jeff Berger
Jeff Berger, professor of animal science, is retiring after 38 years at Iowa State. A program begins at 2:30 p.m.

For faculty or staff interested in submitting a proposal for a fall Honors seminar or who would like more information about Honors seminars. This session will be repeated at 3:10 p.m., same location
Lecture: Tracy Krumm, Visiting Artist
Krumm served as juror for the 42nd Annual National Clay, Fiber, Paper, Glass, Metal, Wood Juried Exhibition at the Octagon Center for the Arts in Ames. She will visit the ISU College of Design on Jan. 29, giving a demonstration and speaking with students in the textiles studio (085 Design) from 1 to 3 p.m., and a public presentation in Kocimski Auditorium (101 Design) from 3 to 4 p.m. All are welcome to attend.

Associate registrar Larry Dau is retiring Jan. 29 after 37 years of service to Iowa State. Letters of well wishes are being collected; send them by Jan. 22 to Char Hulsebus, 10A Enrollment Services Center.

Poetry performance: 'The Girls on the Roof'
"The Girls on the Roof: A Poetry Performance." Iowa Poet Laureate Mary Swander teams up with the Eulenspiegel Puppet Company to perform a poem based on selections from Swander's latest book of poetry, The Girls on the Roof. This production is for an adult audience. Part of the Symposium on Wildness, Wilderness, and the Creative Imagination.
