Behind the Scenes
Join staff each month for an interactive, behind the scenes look at Reiman Gardens. Each month you will learn interesting facts, and see many things not typically open to the public. Come each month to learn more about Reiman Gardens and its many plants and butterflies.
ArtWalk: Horticulture Hall
Join Nancy Girard, educator, for a tour of the recently installed murals by STICKS in the Horticulture Building. This semester's ArtWalks focus on the Thousand Words Project, which asks members of the Iowa State community to re-interpret works of art in the Art on Campus Collection.
Artful Yoga
Release that mid-week stress surrounded by the beauty of the Christian Petersen Art Museum during this free weekly yoga practice. Transform body, mind and spirit through a flowing series of postures and breath work! No yoga experience is necessary, but please bring your own yoga mat.
Architecture Beyond the Object: Inaki Alday
Inaki Alday is the Elwood R. Quesada Professor of Architecture and chair of the architecture department at the University of Virginia. With Margarita Jover he also is a founder and principal of aldayjover architecture and landscape in Barcelona, Spain. In his lecture, Alday will share several of the firm's projects dealing with landscape and territory, urban public space and public buildings.
Embroidery with Judith Lemish
The basic stitches for embroidery can be used for more than pillow cases and kitchen towels. Tons of designs will be available, from traditional to modern and fun, or create your own! Students will stitch on a large tote to create a one-of-a-kind bag.
