Ruth Oniang'o, a Kenyan with a Ph.D. in food science and nutrition, taught at the University of Nairobi, Kenyatta University and Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. She also is an adjunct professor at Tufts University. She is founder and leader of the Rural Outreach Programme, a Kenya-based non-governmental organization that supports resource-poor farmer groups.

They will participate in a discussion with Jonathan Yarowsky, who was General Counsel to the House Judiciary Committee. James McCormick, professor and chair of the Iowa State Political Science Department, will moderate.
