Little Dresses for Africa Work Weekend

The Workspace Arts, performances Diversity Student activities

Simple dresses made out of pillowcases provide relief and hope for the children of Africa. We will provide the supplies, but can use the hands of volunteers to assist with making the dresses. From cutting fabric and ironing to sewing, there is a place for anyone who has an hour or two to spare. Drop in to our community studio to help another community of children in the orphanages of Central Africa. www.littledressesforafrica.org

The film revolves around a housewife who enrolls in an English-speaking course to stop her husband and daughter mocking her lack of English proficiency. Watch how she adapts to her new life and gains self-respect in the process. "English Vinglish" was premiered at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival.
