Youth Program: Plant Pals
Join us and cultivate a real garden at Reiman Gardens. We will learn about and grow lots of vegetables, pumpkins, tomatoes and sunflowers, as well as beautiful flowers. Each session has hands-on activities to interact with all the wonderful plants that we enjoy and eat. Classes are great for kids of all ages to participate in with an adult.

"For the Birds - Nestbox Building Tips" presented by Pat Schlarbaum, Natural Resources Tech II, Iowa Department of Natural Resources Bring your lunch to the Gardens and enjoy an education program. Attend each month and experience a new topic presented by local and regional professionals and lecturers.
Paint Your Own Pottery: Sgraffito Tiles
Join us for a fun exploration of techniques in "painting" bisque. Sgraffito is derived from the Italian word graffiare or "to scratch." Apply two colors of glaze and scratch designs or imagery through the top layer. Studio fee is $4 for ISU and $5 for public to attend plus the cost of the bisque you select. Pottery will be fired within a week for you to pick up. Pre-registration with payment not required, but reservations are recommended.
Hoop Earrings
Hammer copper tubing into hoop earrings, and experiment with patina techniques for varied finishes. Add silver ear wires and leave class with 3 new pairs of earrings to add to your jewelry box.
