Gold Star Hall Ceremony
This important ceremony honors our Iowa State students who made the ultimate sacrifice fighting for the freedoms we enjoy. Their names are carved into the limestone walls of Gold Star Hall in the Memorial Union so that we may both remember and honor their service to our country, which merits our deep respect.

Town hall: Improved Service Delivery (human resources)
Interim vice president for human resources Kristi Darr will talk about the refined HR model and descriptions of jobs in the proposed model including responsibilities and qualifications, and offer further information on the responsibilities that will remain within units and the transition process for employees and units.
Meeting: Faculty Senate
The Faculty Senate represents the general faculty of Iowa State and participates in shared governance of the University with the administration. Senate meetings are open to the public.
Retirement reception: Joyce Russell
Joyce Russell, statehouse correspondent and producer, is retiring after 30 years of service to WOI Radio and Iowa Public Radio. A program will begin at 5 p.m. Attendees are invited to bring a story to share or send comments to be included in a gift. No RSVP is required for the event. Free parking is available behind the building.

Information session: Nationally competitive student awards
A representative from the Institute of International Education will attend to talk about the Boren scholarship, and information will be shared about other nationally competitive awards. This session will be repeated at noon today in the same location.

Visit Day: Prospective Design Graduate Students
The College of Design is hosting a visit day for students considering a graduate degree in design or art majors. Participants have an opportunity to interact with faculty and students, tour facilities, engage with other prospective students and learn the value of Design's outstanding graduate programs.
