Seminar: Deciphering the cis-regulatory logic of plant genomes at single-cell resolution
Join the Genetics, Development and Cell Biology department for this seminar with Dr. Bob Schmitz, professor in the genetics department from the University of Georgia. Dr. Schmitz will discuss research into identifying cis-regulatory DNA elements instrumental to understanding transcriptional regulation during development and/or in response to external stimuli.
Mixed Level Pottery Class with Alice McGary
An introduction to creating functional pottery on the wheel. Start with the building blocks of centering clay and pulling cylinders, and move on to make bowls, mugs, and other forms. Learn how to pull handles, glaze and finishing techniques, and build the skills needed to continue on your own. Open to beginners as well as those with experience who would like to improve their skills.
Stamped Bar Necklace Workshop w/Terrie Hoefer
Use your word for the year, one that serves as a reminder, or a fun message for others to see on a bar necklace. First, learn some basic metalsmithing techniques to prepare your sterling silver bar, next use our letter stamp, and then attach it to sterling silver chain with a clasp. Each one is unique to the maker!
