Dr. Ellenberger is head of biochemistry and molecular biophysics at the Washington University in St. Louis school of Medicine. His lab research studies the enzymes that ensure the faithful transmission of genetic blueprints to future generations. Investigations focus on the molecular structures and cellular functions of proteins that participate in multiple aspects of genomic stability, including DNA replication, DNA repair and recombination, and chromatin maintenance.
