Explore the music & the movements of the Middle East in this introductory belly dance class. Meets Tuesdays from 8:20 - 9:30pm for 8 weeks. (No class Nov. 2)

The drum is the heartbeat of all Middle Eastern music. As such, recognizing and understanding how to move to the various drum rhythms is an integral part of this beautiful art form. Explore a variety of different rhythms commonly used in belly dance music. A series of short combinations and guided exercises will allow students to expand their
creativity, focus on personal expression and advance their performance skills while becoming more familiar with each rhythm. This is a multiple level class where students can deepen their appreciation of Middle Eastern music through dance.
Pre-requisite: Completion of Shiara's Level I class or instructor's approval.
