An annual tradition at Iowa State University, the Honor Choir Festival provides an opportunity for some of Iowa's finest high school singers to join in a highly select ensemble.

This event, held annually on a Sunday - Monday in early February, is designed to honor the top high school music students in the state. The Honor Choir is conducted by Iowa State's Director of Choral Activities, Dr. James F. Rodde.
Each year approximately 100 students from area high schools are selected to come to the beautiful Iowa State campus to study a variety of choral works. The festival culminates with a Monday evening concert in the Martha-Ellen Tye Recital Hall with the Honor Choir and the Iowa State Singers.
As part of the festival, a "Showcase of Choral Ensembles," takes place on Sunday evening in the Martha-Ellen Tye Recital Hall, featuring performances by the Iowa Statesmen, Cantamus Women's Choir and Lyrica Women's Choir.
