Service-learning is a proven pedagogical strategy for increasing engagement and promoting deeper learning among students.

Experienced faculty, Jim Colbert, Associate Professor of Ecology, Evolution, & Organismal Biology, Gail Nonnecke, University Professor of Horticulture and Greg Welk, Associate Professor of Kinesiology, will describe their on-going service-learning activities, reveal why they chose to integrate service-learning in their courses, how they evaluate its effectiveness, and share service-learning best practices.
