Iowa enthusiasts will display multiple styles of bonsai including examples of leaning pine trees, tropical material, temperate deciduous trees, group plantings (forests) and trees growing on rocks instead of in pots.

Shohin, miniature bonsai of less than ten inches in height, will be highlighted at the fall show. Helene Magruder, an Iowa master of shohin, will speak on this form on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. and again on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. On Saturday at 2:00 p.m. and Sunday at 11:00 a.m. there will be a program on "How to Evaluate a Bonsai", presented by Allen and Helene Magruder.

A workshop on Bonsai Styling will be held on Saturday, from 1 to 4 p.m., taught by Dave Lowman. Participants may bring their bonsai and work on their material using techniques learned in class. Cost of the workshop is $40 for members and $50 for non-members. Preregistration is required for this workshop.

IBA members will be on hand for information and informal demonstrations. Bonsai starter plants,
