The cubic perovskite ScF3 exhibits pronounced isotropic negative thermal expansion and a structural quantum phase transition. We present measurements of the thermal expansion from 200 K to about 1.5 K made with capacitive dilatometers. We find evidence for stress effects in the thermal expansion at both high and low temperatures. The Gruneisen parameter exhibits divergent behavior below about 20 K. We discuss these results in light of predictions of Gruneisen divergence near quantum critical points.
