In this talk, I will discuss the vibrational properties of different materials, from hydrides to spin-liquids, obtained by the state-of-the-art phonon calculations. In this regard, I will discuss the methods to deal with both the harmonic and anharmonic phonons. In particular, I will focus on a method to obtain the finite-temperature anharmonic vibrational properties beyond the perturbative regime, called stochastic self-consistent harmonic approximations. I will then show the results of phonon calculations for LiH and alpha-RuCl3 using these methods.
