Engineering Community Outreach will host the FIRST® LEGO® League state championship for students ages 9 to 14 years on campus. The competition continues Jan. 20.

54th Annual ISU Madrigal Dinner
The 54th Annual ISU Madrigal Dinner is presented by the department of music and theatre. As guests dine by the illumination of candlelight, they will be royally entertained by the Iowa State Singers, Musica Antiqua, Shy of a Dozen and Orchesis II dancers. Social hour precedes the 6:30 p.m. dinner.

Walk-in Argentine Tango
This Milonga (dance party) is a multi-level class with lots of time to enjoy the music and dance. From 4-5pm, moves for beginners are introduced with a different figure each week along with techniques for better dancing. From 5-7pm, the floor is yours for dancing under the guidance of Valerie Williams, and for working with different partners. An intermediate level figure will also be introduced during this time.

Workshop, Personalized Learning in Canvas (Canvas Track 2)
Personalized learning is the type of instruction that targets individual student's needs. How does personalized learning look like in Canvas? Upon completion, participants will be able to do the following:
Wheel Pottery Class
Get your hands dirty and make beautiful things! Start with centering clay and pulling cylinders, the building blocks to throwing on the wheel. Move on to forming bowls, mugs, vases and plates, and learn handle-pulling, glazing and finishing techniques. Open to beginners as well as those with experience who would like to improve their skills.
Meeting: Faculty Senate
The Faculty Senate represents the general faculty of Iowa State and participates in shared governance of the University with the administration. Senate meetings are open to the public.
Woodshop Orientation
Learn the fundamentals of woodworking equipment while creating a tool carrier. Leave class with knowledge of proper machinery use, and, most importantly, woodshop safety. Students may purchase the toolbox for $6 after class or we will use them for our Art Mart fundraiser. The orientation is required in order to use the woodshop on your own.
Open Mic Night
Open mic night gives students the chance to show off their talents to fellow peers. Many perform as musicians, comedians, and poets. Enjoy a night full of talented Iowa State Students. (Sign Up starts at 7:30 p.m. until all spots are filled)

Walk-in Craft: Ice Dyed Wearables with Sarah Cady
Move over tie-dye, there's a new trend in town. Use fiber reactive dyes and ice to create a watercolor effect for a pair of socks, scarf or leggings. By simply scrunching the fabric and adding dye, beautiful color combinations will develop. Dyed items will sit in dye overnight, so you'll need to stop back to pick up your finished piece.
