Feed the Need Food Drive
Student Volunteer Services will be collecting canned and non-perishable food for local people in need. Food will be donated to Mid-Iowa Community Action (MICA) for distribution through their food pantry.
First Amendment Day March
The annual First Amendment Day Freedom March begins at City Hall and ends at steps of Beardshear Hall on the Iowa State campus with a reading of the First Amendment and Frederick Douglass on Human Liberty (1857).

Works in Progress Lecture Series
"Exposing the Hidden Legacies of Ho-Chunk Dispossession 'Indian News' and the Struggle over Hunting Laws in 1930s Wisconsin," presentation by Grant Arndt, assistant professor of anthropology and American Indian studies. Lecture: Watchdog Journalism in the 21st Century
Joe Mahr is a journalist for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Previously, he worked for the Toledo Blade, where he was part of the 2004 Pulitzer Prize-winning team that uncovered the U.S. Army's 36-year cover-up of Tiger Force during the Vietnam War. Part of the First Amendment Days Celebration.
