Ready to Run Iowa
Ready to Run Iowa is a nonpartisan campaign training program to encourage women to run for elective office, position themselves for appointive office, work on a campaign or become involved in public life as leaders in their respective communities. Registration is required.
Research workshop: Working with IACUC or IBC Protocols Using a-tune
The Office for Responsible Research, Office of the Attending Veterinarian and Laboratory Animal Resources are offering software training for researchers who submit IACUC or IBC protocols. Participants will learn how to navigate the new electronic protocol submission system, a-tune. Training topics will include creating and submitting a protocol, and, for animal users of LAR, how to order animals and manage animal records.
Dominions: Survey and Surveil in the Global Map
Lawrence Bird, an architect, educator and artist from Winnipeg, Canada, draws on his recent video projects to discuss two surveying systems -- Canada's 19th-century Dominion Land Survey (analogous to the American Public Land Survey) and Google Earth. These systems can be seen as a tool of colonial domination. Part of the Spring 2019 Urban Design Colloquium: Questions of Civility.

Lawn mower service days
Members of the Agricultural Systems Technology Club will provide a routine service: oil change, spark plug replacement, blade sharpening, air filter cleaning, deck cleaning and power wash (no major repairs). Service days continue March 30 (8 a.m.-3 p.m.)

Lover Chancler, Director of The Center for Multiculturalism and Inclusivity at University of Central Missouri, will facilitate an honest discussion in a safe environment about the ways that we are different and the ways that we are similar related to diversity, equity and inclusion in our community. We will explore the impact that microaggressions and perceived bias have had on all of our lives.

Global Gala
Global Gala is an annual celebration of the various cultures on the Iowa State campus. Student organizations showcase their cultural heritage through dance, music and fashion in an effort to promote diversity and celebrate all cultures.
SciNite
SciNite, hosted by the Student Government Sustainability Committee, will focus on highlighting sustainability projects by Iowa State University students and faculty, as well as other educational topics surrounding sustainability, like environmental awareness. Each presentation will last approximately 20 minutes, and in between each presentation, unique performances. A fun night of active learning and appreciating the work done at ISU.
Performance: San Francisco Symphony
Widely considered to be among the most artistically adventurous and innovative arts institutions in the U.S., The San Francisco Symphony will play Stephens Auditorium on March 29. The SF Symphony was established by a group of San Francisco citizens, music-lovers, and musicians in the wake of the 1906 earthquake, and almost immediately, it revitalized the city's cultural life.

Leave Your Trace: Footprint Casting
Drop in and be part of a collaborative art project exploring art and place with Rosie Manzo. Cast your footprints on Saturday, and stop back within the next week to add words and imagery that are a reflection of you. Footprints will be places along a local trail to create a community art installation. Open to all ages if accompanied by an adult. Drop in but give yourself an hour.

STEM Fest
This event gives kids of all ages a chance to learn about Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) through hands-on activities provided by campus departments, student organizations and companies. Activities include robotics, Wildlife Care Clinic, virtual reality, tractors, Science Center Star Lab, Insect Zoo and 3-D printing. Register in advance or at the door.
Workshop: Morel mushroom certification
To legally sell morel mushrooms in Iowa, sellers must complete a certification workshop that covers identifying morels and false morels. People can be poisoned by eating mushrooms that are misidentified as morels. By the end of the workshops, participants will recognize true morels from false morels. Register online.

Walk-in Argentine Tango
This Milonga (dance party) is a multi-level class with lots of time to enjoy the music and dance. From 4-5pm, moves for beginners are introduced with a different figure each week along with techniques for better dancing. From 5-7pm, the floor is yours for dancing under the guidance of Valerie Williams, and for working with different partners. An intermediate level figure will also be introduced during this time.

Lecture: Holocaust Survivor Celina Karp Biniaz
Celina Karp Biniaz is one of the last living survivors of Schindler's List. She will share her story of survival from living a comfortable, middle-class childhood to being forced into a Jewish ghetto and later one of the most infamous Nazi death camps, Auschwitz.
Performance: Mansionair
Grammy-nominated trio; Jack Froggatt, Lachlan Bostock and Alex Nicholls were written and self-produced over a three-year period. They started in living rooms, studios, a garage in inner-city Sydney, and finally a cabin in the California mountains. Shadowboxer is their debut album about making mistakes in private together, and then coming out the other side with something beautiful and whole.
