Lecture: Holistic Approaches to a Resilient Future
James Schwab, manager of the American Planning Association's Hazards Planning Research Center, will talk about ways to foster communities that are resilient in the face of natural hazards and climate-change impacts and what stands in the way. Part of the 2015-2016 Contemporary Issues in Planning and Design Lecture Series cosponsored by the Department of Community and Regional Planning and the College of Design.

Since then, their purpose has been to underline and expose three major issues women artists, as a whole, have encountered historically: a) their glaring absence in major international museums, b) their (in)voluntary marginalization from history books, c) the lack of funds granted to their projects.

ISU Symphonic Band and ISU Concert Band
The Symphonic Band is an 80-member ensemble that explores traditional as well as contemporary works by composers such as Percy Grainger, Malcolm Arnold, Gustav Holst, Ralph Vaughan Williams, and Leonard Bernstein. Paint Your Own Pottery: Superheroes
"Painting" bisque is a fun and relaxing activity that can be done solo or with a group of friends. Whether you are a Marvel or DC Comics fan, incorporate imagery from your favorite character into your design. Studio fee is $4 for ISU and $5 for public to attend plus the cost of the bisque you select.

Symposium: Digital Humanities
"19th Century Humanities in a Digital Age," a symposium for faculty interested in adding digital humanities methods to their research. Hosted by the Center for Excellence in the Arts and Humanities. Registration is required.
Vet Med Expo and Open House
Animal demonstrations, presentations, displays and activities are planned for the College of Veterinary Medicine's open house and expo. Activities include tours, photo props and face painting. A 5K "Run to Cure K-9 Cancer" also is being held by the ISU pre-veterinary club.

Argentine Tango Practica
This Milonga (dance party) is a multi-level class with lots of time to enjoy the music and dance. From 4-5pm moves for beginners are introduced with a different figure each week along with techniques for better dancing. From 5-7pm the dance floor is yours for dancing under the guidance of Valerie and working with different partners. An intermediate level figure will also be introduced during this time.
