Bonsai Show
The private bonsai collections of Iowa Bonsai Association members will be on display at Reiman Gardens for the Annual Fall Bonsai Show. The show will be open to the public from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with presentations and informal demonstrations each day.

Argentine Tango
This Milonga (dance party) is a multi-level class with lots of time to enjoy the music and dance. From 4-5pm moves for beginners are introduced with a different figure each week along with techniques for dancing better. From 5-7pm the dance floor is yours for dancing under the guidance of Valerie and working with different partners. An intermediate level figure will also be introduced during this time.

Flu Shot Clinic
Occupational medicine staff will administer flu shots (while supplies last) weekdays from Oct. 6 to Oct. 17. No appointment is necessary. Bring your ISU ID card to the shot clinic and wear a short-sleeve or loose-fitting shirt for better access to your arm. Because parking is limited in front of TASF, consider walking or biking to the clinic.

Woodshop Orientation Class
For the beginner who wants to learn the fundamentals of woodworking equipment. Proper usage of the machinery will be covered, as well as woodshop safety. This class is required in order to use the woodshop on your own.
Broken China Jewelry Class
Find the perfect use for that lovely chipped china! Learn to cut and shape pieces of china and add solder to make gorgeous pendants. China will be available, but feel free to bring in something special from Grandma.

Training: "How to Write a P&S Position Description"
University human resources is offering training on "How to Write a Professional and Scientific Position Description" in conjunction with the new PeopleAdmin 7 system training. Anyone who writes or assists with writing position descriptions is encouraged to attend. Training is offered weekly beginning Aug. 26 through Nov. 24. Class: Beginner Photography
This is a four part course on Tuesdays, October 7, October 14, October 21, and October 28 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. This four-part workshop will cover the basics of photography including equipment and how to use it, depth of field, aperture, light, composition, finding your subject and tips and tricks. Each class is broken into 3 parts: classroom discussion, hands-on practice taking pictures by the students and review of the images taken.
Jewelry Casting Class
Lost-wax casting is an ago-old sculptural jewelry process. Students will incorporate both hand carved and molded forms that will be cast in brass. Final pieces can be pendants, pins or miniatures.

This session is targeted toward associate professors and their mentors, however, assistant professors and their mentors also would benefit.
