Celebrate the long and important presence of Hispanic and Latino Americans in north America during Latino Heritage Month stop by during open hours September 23 - October 13 to make a button or magnet. Designs feature inspirational quotes and iconic images that celebrate achievements by Latino Americans.

Bioeconomy Showcase and Progressive Dinner

Architectural Photography Field Trip Class
Go on a photo scavenger hunt to shoot images of basic architectural features on the beautiful buildings all over campus. No previous knowledge of architecture will be required as week one will include a short explanation of these features and students will receive their scavenger hunt lists. Week two will include time for additional hunting and time to share their finds and discuss successes and struggles with photographing buildings.

Inception workshop: Global Food Security Consortium
The consortium, an ISU Presidential Initiative announced in June, is holding its first workshop. Participants will discuss interdisciplinary, comprehensive and innovative approaches to the problems of global food security. Workshop continues Oct 2 (8:30 a.m.-noon). This teaching and learning circle will offer a brief introduction to the topic of service-learning and progress into a deeper discussion of how to make meaning out of service-learning. Wheel Pottery Class
Students will be guided through all aspects of forming bowls, mugs, vases and more on the pottery wheel. Learn hand-pulling, glazing and finishing techniques. Open to absolute beginners as well as those with experience who would like to improve their technique and abilities.

Behind all of those sore muscles you may find patience, peace, and a stronger mind/body connection. No yoga experience is necessary, but please bring your own mat. This free yoga practice is sponsored by the University Museums and Recreation Services.
Fall Leadership Conference
As a part of this conference, each participant chose a track that best represented their current leadership comfort and covered topics they were most interested in learning more about. These tracks provided information to students at all stages at ISU and in their development. Participants had the opportunity to hear from a keynote speaker, peers, faculty and staff, and more, and engage in activities to enhance leadership skills.
