The DSN S 546: Products of Public Space (PoPS) studio will host this lecture by David Dahlquist, a principal at RDG Planning & Design in Des Moines and an artist who has produced significant installations as part of both interior and exterior architectural and public space designs. Youth Program: Caterpillar Club
"A Little Green Goes a Long Way" Please join us for winter storytelling twice per month, from October to March. Each gathering features a theme as we read aloud two or three books, and wrap up with related cooperative activities and crafts great for groups and individuals alike. Materials are intended for children ages two to seven years old, and all children must be accompanied by an adult. Let's hangout together.
Sustainability via Synthetic Biology
"Sustainability via Synthetic Biology: A Growing Role for Biotechnology in the Chemical Industry," Brian Pfleger, University of Wisconsin, Madison. Pfleger will present a novel, sustainable method of deconstructing biomass into fermentable sugars that doesn't require degradative enzymes. He will discuss developing strains of bacteria for producing chemical building blocks such as fatty acids, alpha-olefins, fatty alcohols and bioplastics.

Last day to drop second half-semester courses
Last day to drop a second half-semester course without the drop appearing on the permanent record or counting toward the limit of dropped courses.
Pass/Not Pass deadline for second half-semester courses
Last day to change a second half-semester course from Pass/Not Pass to grade basis without it counting toward total allowable P/NP credits used for graduation.
Schedule change deadline for second half-semester courses
Last day to process most schedule changes for a second half-semester course without a schedule change fee or to add/drop a second half-semester course without signatures of instructor and adviser. EH&S Safety Summit
At the Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) spring safety summit, "What to expect when you are inspected," attendees will learn what to expect when state and federal officials arrive on campus to inspect buildings and programs at ISU. Register online.
