Open house: Trinect engineering fellows program
Trinect fellows (graduate engineering students), ISU students in elementary education and local elementary teachers together develop classroom research activities for students in grades 3-5. Engineering applicants are sought for the 2017-18 school year. Current Trinect fellows will answer questions; a short overview will begin at 4:30 pm.

Performance: ISU Wind and Percussion ensembles
Dr. Michael Golemo is the director. The Wind Ensemble is recognized as the top concert band at Iowa State. Striving for perfection and playing for the love of music, the sixty members of the Wind Ensemble perform the finest quality literature composed for winds including music from the 16th century through the most contemporary works available for winds. The Wind Ensemble performs works for smaller chamber ensembles to the full ensemble.
Open Mic Night
Open mic night gives students the chance to show off their talents to their fellow students. Many are musicians, comedians, and poets. So come on out and show us what kind of talents you have. (Sign Up starts at 7:30 p.m. until all spots are filled)

Award-Winning Faculty Series: Using Case-Based Learning in your Classroom Harvard's "Winter Oak"
In this interactive session, Brad Shrader, Morrill Professor in Management, will model case-based learning by teaching a case (Harvard University's "Winter Oak"). This is the story of a young boy and his teacher as she comes to understand another way of learning and thinking. CELT has purchased copies of this case for participants, who will be asked to review the 5-6 page case before the session.

Jun Ye is co-founder, president and CEO of Sentieon, a bioinformatics company established in July 2014. Tom Fullerton and Alberto Davila will discuss the North American Free Trade Agreement-NAFTA, including cross-border trade, the border economy, and its impact on labor markets and business. Both are graduates of the Iowa State Department of Economics.
