College of Engineering Diversity Fair
Hosted by the College of Engineering to collaborate, network and share efforts to broaden the participation of undergraduate women and underrepresented engineering students at Iowa State.
Keynote: Engineering Diversity Fair
Freeman Hrabowski has served as president of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, since 1992. His research and publications focus on science and math education, with special emphasis on minority participation and performance.
Open forum: The Role of the Ombuds Office
Elaine Newell, ISU ombuds officer, will talk about the function of the ombuds office and respond to questions. Hosted by the P&S Council; all are welcome.
Tuesday Tea at the Farm House Museum
Come to the Farm House Museum to enjoy tea and conversation. Mark your calendar from Noon to 1:00 pm each Tuesday this month (Oct. 6th, 13th, 20, 27th) and enjoy the 150 year old structure in a whole new way. After tea, all are welcome to join a guided tour that will highlight different topics each week, including Victorian music and entertainment, women's work through the years, Victorian dining, and more.

Allison Druin is director of the Human-Computer Interaction Lab and an associate professor in the University of Maryland's College of Information Studies. Her work includes developing digital libraries for children, designing technologies for families, and creating collaborative storytelling technologies for the classroom.
