Giving AVATAR Its Voice: Creating the Na'vi Language
Linguist Paul Frommer found himself on an unexpected Hollywood adventure when he was hired to create the language spoken by aliens on the distant moon of Pandora. Frommer developed the Na'vi language for Avatar, including its grammar, syntax and vocabulary. He worked with the actors to perfect Na'vi pronunciation and handled all translations. For 40 Iowa State students. This event is an opportunity for them to learn more about inclusion issues and what social justice means to them and to their community. Applications can be completed online and are due Jan. 21. The summit continues 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday.

This yearly dance concert is produced in conjunction with Orchesis I and features student, faculty and guest artist choreography.
