Glass Beads with Rhonda Scott
Create Venetian beads by melting glass rods with a handheld torch. Learn how to incorporate special design techniques, such as dots and frit, to personalize your beads. Meets Mondays from 6-8 pm for 5 weeks.
Film and discussion: "Vincent Who?"
Curtis Chin is a writer, producer and political activist based in Los Angeles. His documentary Vincent Who? recounts the 1982 murder of Vincent Chin, which spurred the Asian American civil rights movement. Vincent Chin was murdered in Detroit by two white autoworkers at the height of anti-Japanese sentiments. A Q&A with producer Curtis Chin will immediately follow the 40-min film.

Printmaker and scholar Amy Worthen is curator of prints at the Des Moines Art Center. She will present a lecture in conjunction with Postcards X: 10th Annual Postcard Print Exchange Exhibition at the ISU College of Design. This will be followed by an opening reception for the exhibition in the college's Gallery 181.
