"A Biofuels Update," Biofuels Conference keynote by Jim Lane. Lane is editor and publisher of Biofuels Digest, an online source for research, policy and financial news related to the biofuels industry. Part of the Live Green! Sustainability Lecture Series.
The Poetry of Art
"Painting is silent poetry, and poetry is painting that speaks." - Plutarch Accompany University Museums as we explore the relationship between images and language by sharing poetry inspired by the current exhibitions with special guest Mary Swander, Iowa's Poet Laureate and ISU distinguished professor in Liberal Arts and Sciences.
Wheel Pottery with Greg Lamont
Students will be guided through all aspects of forming bowls, mugs, vases and more on the pottery wheel. Learn hand-pulling, glazing and finishing techniques. Meets Thursdays from 7-9:30 pm for 6 weeks.
Identifying, Assessing and Supporting Children with Movement Difficulties
"Identifying, Assessing and Supporting Children with Movement Difficulties," David Sugden. Sugden is an expert on children's developmental disorders, particularly children's movement difficulties. His research focuses on the assessment and intervention of developmental coordination disorder (DCD) in preschool children. The 2010-11 Pease Family Scholar.

Designated Repeat First Half-semester Courses
Last day to file a Designation of Repeated Course form for a first half-semester course that is not an automatic designated repeat.
Pass/Not Pass First Half-semester Courses
Last day to change a first half-semester course to or from Pass/Not Pass. Courses changed to graded basis after Sept 3 count toward total allowable P/NP credits used for graduation.
Black College Reunion
Three-day reunion continues through Sept. 26. Pre-registration required by Aug. 20. Friday events include 6:30-10 p.m. meet and greet, and program (8-9 p.m.) recognizing George Jackson, retired assistant dean of the Graduate College.
Dance social
Free dance social hosted by the ISU Ballroom Dance Club. Singles welcome. Dress is casual, however indoor shoes or socks must be worn in the studio. Check the website for a full schedule.
