Workshop: Tools for Change: How to increase student success while maintaining academic rigor
Timothy McNicholl, Professor of Mathematics, made big changes for ISU's STEM students. His team reduced pre-calculus's D, drop, and fail rate from 65% to 25% and increased attendance from 60% to 90%. In this interactive workshop, Dr. McNicholl will share the supports ISU and Mathematics put in place, the research that inspired his team, and the tools they created and refined to change how this course is taught at ISU.

Research Workshop: Submission software training
The Office for Responsible Research will transition to a new electronic system for submission, review, and maintenance of Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) and Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) applications. The a-tune tick@lab system will go live in early 2018, integrating research, teaching and testing protocols, animal procurement and management, as well as veterinary medical records.
