Reception: 'Women Impacting ISU' calendar honorees
A program begins at 4 p.m. to introduce the women selected for the Catt Center's 2023 "Women Impacting ISU" calendar. The program also will be livestreamed and free copies of the calendar will be distributed.

This event has been moved to Jan. 26. Singers, songwriters and native Iowans Michael Moncada and Jordan Beem will perform as part of the Goldfinch Room Iowa Songwriters Showcase at Stephens Auditorium.

Material Alchemy
Join Minnesota-based artist Harriet Bart for the opening of her solo exhibition Harriet Bart: Material Alchemy in the Christian Petersen Art Museum. The event will begin with an artist talk discussing the evolution of the artistââ'¬â"¢s practice over the last 50 years, to be followed by an opening reception of the exhibition. DECKS: A Framework to Understand and Evaluate Game Mechanics
This lecture will introduce a game design framework called DECKS (Short for Decisions versus Chance and Knowledge versus Skills) that builds upon the findings of previous research. DECKS Framework presents theoretical and creative approaches to placing traditional game mechanics on two separate conceptual axes through questioning the actions taken by the players during gameplay.

Sketching on Napkins | The Jack Trice Tribute Story: "Breaking Barriers"

Argentine Tango Drop-In Lessons

Martin Luther King, Jr. 2023 Keynote: Bree Newsome illustrates how ordinary people can make an extraordinary difference. Following the brutal murder of nine black parishioners in 2015 at Mother Emmanuel Church in Charleston, S.C., Bree climbed the flagpole at the South Carolina statehouse and pulled down the Confederate Battle flag. Her arrest galvanized public opinion and led to the permanent removal of the flag.
