Retirement reception: Sarah Rajala
Sarah Rajala, Dean of the College of Engineering since April 2013, is retiring, and the college is hosting a retirement party for her. Remarks will begin at 3:30 p.m.
Discuss Published Education Research in Your Discipline (DBER Journal Club)
How do students learn best in your discipline? Where can you publish the way you solved instructional problems? You are invited to share and discuss DBER journal articles, seek feedback as you begin designing your own educational research projects, and form collaborations with participants from other disciplines.

Rose Martin, senior lecturer in food science and human nutrition since 2008, is retiring.
Workshop: Photo Recipes
A 4-week course led by professional photographer and instructor Mark Stoltenberg. The special photography class covers a collection of "how to" recipes. Participants should bring a DSLR camera and sturdy tripod. Beginner Photography or instructor permission is a prerequisite for this class. Preregistration with prepayment is required by May 5.

Iowa Songwriters Showcase
Iowa songwriters Chris Myers and Fred Love will perform in Stephens Auditorium's listening room, an intimate setting with fantastic acoustics. Myers' sound is a fusion of folk, rock, pop, and soul. Love uses a direct blend of country, folk and blues. The Goldfinch Room provides great acoustics in an intimate setting for approximately 80 people.

Walk-in Argentine Tango
This Milonga (dance party) is a multi-level class with lots of time to enjoy the music and dance. From 4-5pm, moves for beginners are introduced with a different figure each week along with techniques for better dancing. From 5-7pm, the floor is yours for dancing under the guidance of Valerie Williams, and for working with different partners. An intermediate level figure will also be introduced during this time.

Research workshop: Working with IACUC or IBC Protocols Using a-tune
The Office for Responsible Research, Office of the Attending Veterinarian and Laboratory Animal Resources are offering software training for researchers who submit IACUC or IBC protocols. Participants will learn how to navigate the new electronic protocol submission system, a-tune. Training topics will include creating and submitting a protocol, and, for animal users of LAR, how to order animals and manage animal records.
