Web talk, Systemic disadvantages for LGBTQ professionals in STEM (SABER)
Researchers have documented race and gender bias in STEM for decades, but there has been little parallel examination of LGBTQ status as an axis of inequality. How do LGBTQ-identifying STEM professionals fare in STEM? Drawing on the NSF-funded STEM Inclusion Study data of over 25,000 STEM workers, Dr. Cech will discuss her recent study of LGBTQ inequality among STEM professionals.

Lecture: Stem Cells and Bioengineering for Brain Repair Strategies
In his presentation, Donald Sakaguchi, Director of Biology and Genetics Undergraduate Program and Morrill Professor, will discuss his highly collaborative, interdisciplinary research program that merges stem cell biology and bioengineering to develop experimental brain and tissue repair strategies. When combined, these enabling technologies can contribute to the development of novel therapeutic interventions with biomedical applications.

Angela Meyer is a country music artist based in Eastern Iowa in the tiny town of McCausland. She has played professionally around the Quad Cities area for over 10 years, and shows from New Mexico to New York.
