Walk-in Craft: Ice Dyed Wearables with Sarah Cady
Move over tie-dye, there's a new trend in town. Use fiber reactive dyes and ice to create a watercolor effect for a pair of socks, scarf or leggings. By simply scrunching the fabric and adding dye, beautiful color combinations will develop. Dyed items will sit in dye overnight, so you'll need to stop back to pick up your finished piece.
Movie: BlacKkKlansman
BlacKkKlansman, directed by Spike Lee and produced by Jordan Peele - Ron Stallworth (John David Washington) becomes the first black detective on the Colorado Springs Police Department. He sets out to prove his worth by infiltrating the local chapter of the Ku Klux Klan and convinces his Jewish colleague (Adam Driver) to go undercover as a white supremacist.

The Quality Matters (QM) Learning Community is designed to help you improve your courses using the Quality Matters Standards. Members will have opportunities to hear about ways to meet the QM standards, as well as discussing best practices, experiences, and solutions to course design problems.

MLK Jr. Legacy Convocation, with Keynote Ron Stallworth
Join us for Iowa State's university-wide celebration of the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This year's program features keynote speaker Ron Stallworth, whose extraordinary story of being a black detective who infiltrates the Ku Klux Klan is the subject of Spike Lee's recent movie BlacKkKlansman.
SUB Comedy Competition w/ Host Pete Lee
Pete's joyful humor comes from his Midwestern roots. Pete Lee was the first standup comedian to get a standing ovation on The Tonight Show and has appeared on the show various times within the past year. Currently, Pete is a cast member of TruTV's Greatest Ever and he hosts his own segment on Nickelodeon's Nick Toons, in co-ordination with the NFL, called NFL Rush.

High School Regional Science Bowl
Iowa's top science and math high school students face off in a Q&A format in which contestants are quizzed on their knowledge of math and a range of science disciplines.
Dance Marathon
ISU Dance Marathon is a 365 day commitment to raising money for the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital; with that comes the yearly celebration during Dance Marathon Weekend. Dancers stay on their feet for 15 hours to symbolize support for the families who spend countless hours in hospital waiting rooms. Come listen to music, play games, hang out with the kids, and even do a bit of dancing.
Family Movies in the Gardens
Two showings at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Looking for a warm, cozy place to entertain the kids for a few hours? Every Saturday in January, Reiman Gardens will offer movies for children at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
