Faces of Iowa State LIVE Portrait Painting - Carol Grant
University Museums, Iowa State University, is pleased to announce the live painting of 16 portraits by celebrated Iowa artist Rose Frantzen. The portrait painting sessions will take place during a March 29 through April 6, 2017 residency in the lower gallery of the Christian Petersen Art Museum, 0003 Morrill Hall, on central campus. All portrait sessions will be open to the public to watch Frantzen's artistic process evolve.

Tour: Virtual Reality Applications Center
The VRAC Experience public tour offers participants a chance to learn about the unique research facilities at VRAC and HCI and how we use them as research tools. The presentation also explains how 3D virtual reality (VR) works and how graphics technology has evolved over the past decade. Several 3D enabled demonstrations will show how VR is being used to conduct research. RSVP free online.
Workshop: Easy ways to make your course accessible using Universal Design for Learning (UDL)
In this interactive workshop, Samuel Harvey, a doctoral student in English with a BS in Special Education and an MA in Rhetoric, will help you generate tips and tricks for making your classroom more accessible to all your students. Persona theory is an effective method for re-imagining how various students are interfacing with your course material, and Sam will guide you through this process.

3rd annual Bioinformatics and Computational Biology Symposium
The symposium features speakers, a poster session highlighting graduate and undergraduate student research, and a complimentary breakfast, lunch and coffee break. There will be time for the speakers to interact with students. In addition to sharing their research, speakers are invited to discuss their journey and offer advice to students who would like to pursue a career in academia.
