Sentinel Plant Network First Detector Training
Reiman Gardens' staff will take you through the steps to become a certified First Detector, in the ever-increasing effort to detect and diagnose "high-consequence" pests and pathogens, such as the emerald ash borer and the Asian long-horned beetle.

Concert: Esme Patterson
Hailing from Boulder, Colorado, Esme Patterson is a singer/songwriter. In 2006, she and her sister, along with another pair of siblings, formed a folk group in Denver known as Paper Bird. In 2012, Patterson decided to become a solo artist working on her first album, All Princes, I. After her first album, Patterson worked on and released Woman to Woman in 2013.

Planetarium Show
Are you curious about space? Do you wonder about what you can see in the night sky? If so, bring your questions and come to the ISU Planetarium to learn more. The first show, starting at 6:30 p.m. will be 20 minutes and for kids. Shows at 7 and 7:30 p.m. and are suitable for all ages. Tickets will be available at the door starting at 6:15 p.m. Seating is limited. Weather permitting there will be an outdoor observing session after the last show.

Take an active role in conservation as a citizen scientist through the Iowa Butterfly Survey Network (IBSN), with this free training from our entomology staff. Learn survey techniques specifically developed for butterflies so you can help monitor butterfly populations, & provide valuable data to identify potential threats, show effectiveness of habitat restoration efforts, & give an snapshot of the health of all butterfly populations in Iowa.
