Linda Niehm, recipient of the 2009 Rossman-Manatt award, has built her career around the concept of integrative research between academia and rural community entrepreneurship. Her lecture will provide an overview of successful research and outreach projects, specifically focusing on a current USDA-NRI grant on community resiliency and recent rural business and community outreach projects in Oskaloosa and Elkader, Iowa.

The Agricultural Systems Technology Club is holding its annual lawn mower service days. Mowers (in good working order) should be dropped off only during the designated time. Service includes an oil change, half tank of fuel, sparkplug, blade sharpening and grease. Pickup and delivery in Ames is available for an extra $15 (for push mowers) or $20 (for riders). Contact the club with questions and pickup and delivery requests.
