Film and discussion: Tik Tok Boom
The 2022 film TikTok Boom is a documentary that explores the ways in which members of ethnic minorities have been affected, and often marginalized, by this social media phenomenon. Novotny Lawrence focuses his research on film studies, blaxploitation cinema, race, media, and popular culture. He has a joint appointment between the Greenlee School of Journalism and the English Department. Free snacks will be provided.

Ready to Run Iowa
"Ready to Run Iowa" is a 6-part, nonpartisan campaign training program to encourage women to run for elective office, position themselves for appointive office, work on a campaign, or become more involved in public life. Each workshop will address a different topic. Registration is required; register for each workshop individually.

Drop-In Craft: Flowerpot Painting
Simple, fun, and in-season, terra cotta pots are an easy surface to paint on. Choose from small pots to start an herb garden, to medium containers for indoor plants, and larger pots for outdoor flowers.

Performance: Les Violons du Roy
Les Violons du Roy takes its name from the celebrated court orchestra of the French kings. It was founded in 1984 by Bernard Labadie, now styled founding conductor, and continues under music director Jonathan Cohen to explore the nearly boundless repertoire of music for chamber orchestra in performances matched as closely as possible to the period of each work's composition.

Kainalu is a psychedelic funk recording project by independent multi-instrumentalist and producer Trent Prall. Drawing influence from modern psychedelia and classic Motown artists he grew up listening to, Kainalu's unique sound has gained international appeal.
